Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. Born on November 11, 1966. Alison Doody made her film debut as an actress and Bond girl in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody became a model after she was approached by a hopeful photographer. She has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody was extremely strict about not doing the glamorous work or doing nude. The rule was extended to her acting career. In 1985, following getting noticed by the directors who were casting a James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody appeared on John Willis Screen World Volume 2. She was one of twelve promising young actors for the year 1986. 38. Doody, who was only 18 when she played the part of Doody in the film A Prayer to the Dying (1987) with Mickey Rourke, is the youngest Bond Girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her debut leading role. It took place in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt along with Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took perhaps her most well-known role to date as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody acted alongside Sean Connery, who played Indy's father. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She later moved to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his girlfriend and agent on the film Major League II. Doody was part of the 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration to receive an award. in 2004, Doody starred with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version of King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), an essay on the Holocaust. In 2010 Doody played a role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She later guest starred in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Her first two seasons on the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. The 21st of November, 2018, she was honored by the Almeria the tierra de cine prize and she received a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
